Case Study

This beer focused bar in the heart of the San Fernando Valley needed a little help. The original logo was full of secondary explanation text, housed within a fairly generic oval shape that overused interior gradations, outlines and drop shadows. I felt with a name like “Crazy Harry’s” it should be big, bold and slightly off-kilter. With a mix of hand altered and hand set typography with a slight homegrown feel, I wanted to show that this is a bar with a passion for an artisanal beer selection. Additionally, I thought it was appropriate for Crazy Harry’s to embrace its unusual location, therefore the city (and bar’s opening date) were incorporated in the logo redesign.
